Share Your Food

Share Your Food is a program that has been inspired by the concept of street free food. This year, NOVAC-TISSA would like to focus on the welfare of accounting students. This program targets on students who are from low-income family or those who cannot afford to pay for daily regular meals. We hope by conducting this program will help the needy students as well as help creating better engagement and relation between NOVAC-TISSA and other  organizations involved. We also hope to achieve ‘zero hunger’, which is a part of United Nation Sustainable Development Goals. This year, NOVAC-TISSA would like to focus on the welfare of accounting students. Cahaya Ilmu Adikku Sayang

FEB 2019 until MAY 2019 (Every Tuesday)

Cahaya Ilmu Adikku Sayang 1.0 was a continuous programme held in SMK Bandar Baru Sintok during the 2016/2017 session of NOVAC-TISSA. There were 5 groups of students and 6 facilitators who involve in the programme. Besides, the facilitators visited the school every Tuesday night from 8.00 pm to 10.30 pm. All the facilitator was assigned a group of students to be taught. Cahaya Ilmu Adikku Sayang 3.0 is a continuous programme from Cahaya Ilmu Adikku Sayang 2.0 where the NOVAC-TISSA members will be the facilitators throughout the programme. This programme aims to help the high school students mainly sitting for SPM to assist them in accounting subject. We will be visiting the selected school and engaging with them for several months. This year we decided to do in SMK Bandar Baru Darulaman, Jitra, Kedah.

TISSA International Engagement & Collaboration

This programme is set to take place during mid-semester break of A182 session, which is from 1st March to 5th March 2019 (5 days and 4 nights) bringing a group of NOVAC-TISSA committee members to Beijing, China. The aim is to expose UUM students to an out-of-norm work environment and culture so as to prepare themselves for an international opportunity of employment as well as serve this trip as a reward for their hard work and dedication put into conducting other programmes for TISSA students throughout the year. This programme looks forward to meeting the big four firms in Beijing, China, as well as have an interactive session with Malaysians in accounting profession in that country to share their experiences with the participants. Apart from firm visits, we are foreseeing a collaboration with Peking University Guanghua School of Management or Capital University of Economics and Business to engage in a potential mobility deal to increase the number of universities UUM has mobility agreement for exchange programs as well as with firms with accounting profession to keep UUM students as their priority for employees recruitment. Apart from career related trips, participants will also plant trees to commemorate our visit there.

Share Your Love To Exceptional Children 3.0 -

Share Your Love To Exceptional Children is an annual programme which will be running by NOVAC-TISSA. Our last visit is on February to May 2018. For the last visit, we had visited Wisma Persatuan Kanak-Kanak Khas Sungai Petani, Kedah. Starting from 2019, NOVAC-TISSA members will have visit to Persatuan Bantuan Pendidikan Kanak-Kanak Khas Pusat Pendidikan Pekaka (PEKAKA) located in Sungai Petani, Kedah. Starting from March to April, NOVAC’s members will visit PEKAKA, once in every two weeks. According to chairman of PEKAKA, there are two groups of exceptional children which are the younger and elder ones. Therefore, we will visit each group twice throughout this programme. PEKAKA is a school that advocates quality education, cultivate public awareness and provide social learning skills to the exceptional children. This programme aims to improve exceptional children’s physical movements, develop their interaction skills with the public and to shape their self-discipline. Through this programme we have fulfilled the fourth goal of Sustainable Development Goals which is to provide inclusive and equitable quality education for all irrespective of gender, age, race as well as children with disabilities. Besides, we ensure all the people in our society be entitled to raise voice against discrimination. We work towards the target of ensuring equitable education is provided to exceptional children and all genders. Lastly, we will organize a fund-raising programme in UUM to cover our programme expenses and part of it as a collection of donation to the organization.

Intensive Class

9 and 23 April 2019

Intensive class 2019 is a continuous event which will held for students A182. This programme is to help students in subject Financial Accounting & Reporting (1,2,3,4 and 5) for their preparation to face final examination. We will invite the lecturers that are willing to give lecture for students. We will also focus on past year examination questions so that students will be familiar with the format of exam questions. This programme is limited for 60 students per class, using the concept; first come, first serve.This programmes try to fulfil Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in quality education which is ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

Your Career Your Journey (YCYJ)

Your Career, Your Journey 2018 (YCYJ2018) was a successful 3 days 2 nights event from 19 till 21 April 2018 that held by the NOVAC-TISSA committees. YCYJ 2018 had held a student visit at BDO and KPMG. Besides, they attended CPA Profession Session and CPA Australia Career EXPO 2018 at KLCC. They also had an Alumni Sharing Session with those alumni who graduated from UUM and currently working at the Big Four firms. YCYJ2018 aims to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and real-working environment.

Your Career, Your Journey 2019 is (YCYJ2019) is a 3 days 2 nights event that will be held by our NOVAC-TISSA committees which aims to expose the working culture and internal operations in a professional accounting firm to the students. We will be visiting Big4 accounting firms or other companies. The participants will have the chance to meet the representative from the big4 accounting firm on the opportunities to join them for internship. Besides, we will invite alumni from UUM to share their working experiences to the students.

Open Your Eyes, Brighten Your Brain 2.0

Open Your Eyes, Brighten Your Brain 1.0 was held on 22 - 23 March 2018 has received a warm welcome from participants. Various activities had been carried out in two days one night camp at Kolej Matrikulasi Kedah (KMK). Throughout this program, the participant has been disclosed about the advantages of the TISSA-UUM students. We agreed to make this program an annual event in NOVAC club. This program had a huge impact on TISSA-UUM and UUM itself because most participants successful to further their studies in UUM under A181 intake. For Open Your Eyes, Brighten Your Minds 2.0, the enhancement was designed to make this upcoming program more interesting so that main objectives of the programme can be achieved 100%.

The purpose of this program is to attract students who will pursue their studies at a bachelor's degree level to choose Universiti Utara Malaysia as their first choice university. Through this program, NOVAC want to open the eyes of young people out there about the advantages they will get when they agree to be part of TISSA-UUM. Furthermore, we also want to develop their critical thinking, creativity and innovation skills as their preparation to become a student of Universiti Utara Malaysia.

 For this upcoming program, NOVAC has agreed to have this program run for three days and two nights at Universiti Utara Malaysia. Various activities will be carried out around university. Participants will be more aware about the uniqueness and advantages of Universiti Utara Malaysia which is known as University in a Green Forest. In addition, the participants will also be exposed more about TISSA-UUM. From this program, we can ensure to provide inclusive and equitable quality education among participants and promote lifelong learning opportunities to all of them.

Ultimate Paintball Survival 2019 is a competitive team shooting sport event and the purpose of this event is to promote this sport for the students or public especially those who are in the northern region. Health is a fundamental human right and a key indicator of sustainable development. The main objective of this sport event is to increase the awareness of students regarding the importance of mental health, healthy lifestyle and well-being at all ages as these are also similar with the 3rd goal of sustainable development of United Nation. Besides that, the purpose of this event is also to raise awareness of students about the importance of sports and prevention for anxiety and depression. The main reason of choosing this event is because paintball helps to develop a number of skills that are essential in the workplace, improves relationships between your team and keeps morale and high productivity.

4th International Accounting Youth Camp

IAYC 2019 is a platform for all future accountants to get together in Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). Through this programme, participants will get an opportunity to expand their networking through interacting with other private and local ,foreign, polytechnics and matriculation students .IAYC give various opportunities such as participants communicate with the representatives from the invited firms and give exposure on the real life working situation in this globalization world which is full of challenges and opportunities.
Apart from that, we aim to promote and instill teamwork values in students and enable students to increase their self-confidence to become a future leader. Furthermore, they can  exchange opinions and thought by expanding their creative ideas among the students. Thus, this programme will help to prepare future accountants who are highly competent, ethical and responsible in the business world.

E-Sport Carnival 2019

E-Sport Carnival 2019 is an electronic sport event organized  to develop e-Sports global culture to students and public people because e-Sports is fast growing to provide opportunities outside of being a pro players. By being an organizing committee of E-sport, students may develop many skills as it can teach the streaming, production, programming and management skills. In E-Sports Carnival 2019, we include PUBG, Mobile Legend, PES 19 and FIFA 19. We are planning to collaborate with an electronic sport companies which may help and teach us on how to organize such event. Besides, Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. E-Sport Carnival should be ambitious to achieve the goals and targets set by Sustainable Development Goals. We have demonstrated that we can set and achieve “higher targets” through sustained and systematic effort. E-sport could be related to the sustainable development goal no. 17, Partnerships for The Goals which the programme able to promote the development, transfer, dissemination and diffusion of the environment with advance technologies as Malaysia is developing countries on favorable terms.

Northern Accounting and Business Students Industrial Engagement Summit 2019 (NABSIES2019)

The Northern Accounting and Business Students Industrial Engagement Summit (NABSIES) is a yearly event under NOVAC-TISSA UUM. This programme is an initiative to prepare the students in facing the working environment in the future and aims to create a platform for the interaction between distinguished corporate line figures and aspiring students through knowledge sharing sessions to enrich their understanding of the industrial field. Talks and forums conducted by professional industrial specialists as to emphasize on the importance of professionalism in the industrial field will also be held during the event. Also talks on career opportunities, employment and internships are bound to be conducted. Students will benefit through this by having a clear picture on what to expect once they step into the corporate world. Students will also stand a chance to pose relevant doubts to accounting and corporate firms regarding their expectations of a new employee in terms of minimum qualifications, personality perspectives and corporate relationship. Career booths from all invited companies are also expected to be held during NABSIES 2019 to promote the different internship job offers by each respective company.

Auxiliary Day 2019

Auxiliary Day 2019 is programme is specifically for the new members that will enlist in A191 semester. This programme is relied upon to make and reinforce the bond between the new and senior of NOVAC-TISSA members. Participants will likewise become acquainted with more insights about NOVAC-TISSA and also guide to be an accountant later on by sharing data on the audit firms and the expert bodies related with accounting field. Furthermore, they will be presented to the university life and whatever other data that is valuable for them as new college understudy. This programme try to fulfill Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in good health and wellbeing by playing exciting games such as explorace and physical activity like canoe which is leads to productivity and better performance, which in turn can lead to wealth. Next, this programme also fulfills quality education by invited great speaker to give information to participant about accounting field such as professional paper like ACCA.

NOVAC Leadership Camp

NOVAC Leadership Camp is a programme organized by NOVAC-TISSA for its committee members. This programme is aimed to prepare NOVAC committees with the leadership, knowledge and professional skills required in managing a club. It is a “think-tank” event for NOVAC to brainstorm future good programmes throughout the year 2020. Besides, this programme also relies upon to make and reinforce the bonding between the current (2018/2019) and new (2019/2020) NOVAC-TISSA committees. Moreover, this event is a 2 days and 1 night camp that will be held at Universiti Utara Malaysia. In this programme, there will be a session with the seniors and ex-committees on the leadership and paperwork guidance talk which will enhance the participants’ skills in preparing good documentations since they will conduct events for the term 2019/2020. On top of that, This programme tries to fulfil Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in good health and wellbeing by playing exciting games and physical activity like Go Cart which will lead to productivity and better performance.

NOVAC Entrepreneurship Month (NEM) is a 3 weeks program to raise funds for NOVAC-TISSA by selling goods. This program will be held on 2 October 2019 until 24 October 2019. Furthermore, the Sustainable Development Goal for this program is to strengthen the quality of education, an entrepreneur is a person who are willing to risk his time and capital to create a business, for this program, all the committees will learn about the process of conducting a small business start from planning the business, evaluating the plan, executing the plan until closing the sales
